Kent Test results: pass marks and school places

In 2025 a child needed 332 in total with no subject below 108. KCC publishes the 2026 rule in October. Passing makes a child eligible; each school then decides its own offers.

KCC reports English, maths and reasoning scores plus a total, each age-standardised. Results arrive by email on 15 October if you gave one at registration, otherwise by post.

A total alone is not enough

Worked example Check both conditions

Under the 2025 rule, do scores of 107, 122 and 120 pass?

Answer: The total is 349, above 332, but 107 is below 108. No.

The trap: A high total does not cancel a subject minimum.

Can a child pass but miss a place?

Yes. Each school allocates by its own rules, often distance. Check the policy for your school and entry year.

Using practice marks

  • Record the cause of each error: reading, method, calculation or answer sheet.
