LNAT inference questions
For inference practice, choose only the conclusion a passage supports. LNAT treats inference as a reading skill, not a named question category.
See the answerWhich answer is best supported?
Choose B. The increase on nearby roads supports a cautious possibility that some drivers changed route. It does not prove where every driver went.
| Choice | Verdict | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A | Not supported | The passage reports bus and car results on one road, not results for most road users. |
| B | Best supported | Traffic rose on nearby roads, so route-changing is possible. The cautious word “may” keeps the claim within the evidence. |
| C | Too certain | The city did not measure smaller residential streets, so “definitely” goes beyond the passage. |
| D | Not supported | A six-week trial cannot establish that a permanent change would have identical effects. |

Inference: the four-day weekWhat is an LNAT inference question?
Inference practice asks which conclusion follows from the passage without adding assumptions. LNAT's guide names inference as a reading skill, not a standalone question category.
LNAT preparation guideWhere does LNAT mention inference?
The preparation guide lists inference among the abilities the multiple-choice section assesses: can you “accurately identify fact from opinion or inference”?
LNAT preparation guideHow long do you get for LNAT Section A?
The current LNAT test-format page gives 95 minutes for all 42 Section A questions. That is an overall allowance, not a required time limit for each passage.
LNAT test formatMargin is independent LNAT practice. LNAT did not supply this example, and it does not predict a Section A score.

The error that costs the mark is adding one step the passage never took, and it looks reasonable every time you make it. 10 of the 83 questions on the practice page are free. Founder access is £25 for the other 73, each with the passage sentence your answer turned on.
