A falls alarm and worries about surveillance supplied plan
- An older adult has been offered an assessment for a personal alarm. A demonstration model has been proposed, but no device has been selected for supply. The equipment service can explain functions and information handling before the patient decides.
- The equipment service can demonstrate the proposed device and explain its actual functions and information arrangements.
- The patient can ask questions and decide whether to proceed after the assessment; today's conversation does not order equipment.
- Do not claim that all alarms have the same features or guarantee that no information is recorded.
- I can request a demonstration of the actual device being proposed, including what information it uses or records. That should give you something more concrete than your neighbour's description.
- The assessment is a chance to ask questions before deciding. We are not ordering a device in this conversation, and I should not assume its features from the general word alarm.
Fictional exam scenario only. Supplied arrangements are not medical guidance for a real patient..
