Check in groups, not per question
Shared passages make single questions uneven. Check the clock after a group. If stuck, answer, flag and move on.

Worked example Recover a QR schedule
In QR you have answered 12 questions in 10 minutes. How much time is left per question?
Why this works: 24 questions in 16 minutes: 16 × 60 ÷ 24 = 40 seconds each.
Why the tempting route fails: Dividing the full 26 minutes by 24 ignores the time already spent.
