Each section has its own clock. Paper and a pencil help; no calculator. The clock shows test pace; the report works with whatever was answered.
| Section | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| English and verbal ability | 5 | 5:00 |
| Numerical reasoning | 5 | 6:00 |
| Non-verbal reasoning | 5 | 5:00 |
| Total | 15 | 16 minutes |
What you get
- A parent report the moment the practice test ends, no account: answers by paper, where to start, and three short sessions for this week.
- Print it or save it as a PDF. Saving to a free account is optional.
How the range is worked out
- Each section is marked out of its questions.
- The overall mark counts English and verbal ability as 50%, numerical reasoning 25% and non-verbal reasoning 25%, as Bexley weights its score.
- We add one right and one wrong answer to each section, so a short test never claims a perfect or a zero mark, and show one standard error either side, rounded out to 5%.
- Bexley standardises its scores across the children who sit the test and sets the selective score after marking. This mark is our practice measure, not a Bexley score.
Questions
Is this an official Bexley test?
No. The questions are our own, written to the Bexley test's subjects, and each one was solved independently by a second solver.
What is in the real Bexley test?
Two papers of about 50 minutes each: English comprehension and verbal ability, then numerical and non-verbal reasoning. Bexley does not publish question counts.
How long does this take?
16 minutes: 5 for English and verbal ability, 6 for numerical reasoning and 5 for non-verbal reasoning.
Do we need an account?
No. A parent report shows straight away: answers by section, where to start and three sessions for this week, to print or save as a PDF. A free account is optional; it keeps the report.
Does passing give a place?
No. Passing means a Bexley grammar school can consider your child. In 2025, 5,866 children sat the test and 2,070 were deemed selective; each school then ranks those who applied.
