The seven units and their marks

  • Number Systems 6, Algebra 20, Coordinate Geometry 6, Geometry 15, Trigonometry 12, Mensuration 10, Statistics and Probability 11: 80 in all.
  • Algebra is polynomials, pairs of linear equations, quadratic equations and arithmetic progressions.
  • Geometry is similar triangles and tangents to a circle; Mensuration is areas of sectors and segments, and surface areas and volumes of two joined solids.

Limits the syllabus sets

Heights and distances use at most two right triangles, with angles of elevation or depression of 30, 45 or 60 degrees only. Segment areas use central angles of 60, 90 or 120 degrees only. Quadratic equations have real roots only, and grouped data avoids bimodal cases. Calculators are not allowed.

How this course maps the units

The course groups the seven units into eight sections, each with two lessons, practice and its share of the two timed papers. Set the planner above with the weeks you have and how sure you are of each section, and it splits your hours.
