Reading
Questions follow paired passages, long and short passages, brief statements and visual representations such as charts and graphs. Every answer comes from the passage; no question needs outside knowledge.
Writing
The selected-response section has usage, sentence correction, revision-in-context and research skills questions. Then come two essays: an Argumentative essay from your own experience, observations or reading, and an Informative/Explanatory essay that draws on two sources and cites both.
Mathematics
Questions cover number and quantity, data and statistics and probability, and algebra and geometry. Some ask you to select one or more answer choices, and some to type a number.
