JEE Main 2027 maths syllabus and paper pattern
Mathematics in JEE (Main) Paper 1 is 25 questions for 100 marks: 20 multiple choice in Section A and 5 numerical-value questions in Section B, on a 14-unit syllabus.
12 weeks, 96 hours in all
Start with Section 5
Integrals and differential equations: 12.8 of your hours. It is 8 of the 50 questions on our two timed papers, 16%.

The 14 syllabus units
- Algebra: sets, relations and functions; complex numbers and quadratic equations; matrices and determinants; permutations and combinations; the binomial theorem; sequences and series.
- Calculus: limits, continuity and differentiability; integral calculus; differential equations.
- Geometry and the rest: coordinate geometry; three-dimensional geometry; vector algebra; statistics and probability; trigonometry.
What the 2027 syllabus leaves out
The 2027 mathematics syllabus has no unit on mathematical induction or mathematical reasoning. Three-dimensional geometry covers lines (direction ratios, the angle between lines, skew lines and the shortest distance between them), and vector algebra covers scalar and vector products. This course teaches exactly those units.
How this course maps the units
The course groups the 14 units into nine sections, each with two lessons, Section A practice, Section B practice and its share of the two timed papers. Set the planner above with the weeks you have left and how sure you are of each section, and it splits your hours.

Questions people ask
How many maths questions are there in JEE Main Paper 1?
25: 20 multiple-choice questions in Section A and 5 numerical-value questions in Section B, for 100 marks.
Are the Section B questions optional?
The 2027 Information Bulletin lists 20 Section A and 5 Section B questions for mathematics and does not say that any are optional.
Is mathematical induction in the 2027 syllabus?
No. The 2027 mathematics syllabus has 14 units and none of them covers mathematical induction.
