Is a UCAT score out of 3600 times 3/4 the same as out of 2700?
A section was removed, not rescaled. By UCAT's own deciles, 2800 out of 3600 matches about 2120 out of 2700, not 2100.
To compare an old UCAT total out of 3600 with the new 2700 scale, multiply by 3/4.
Applies to: Comparing totals from the 2024 test or earlier with 2025 and later.
What the sources say
Totals were 1200 to 3600 with four cognitive subtests. Abstract Reasoning was withdrawn in 2025, so totals are now 900 to 2700. Each remaining section is still 300 to 900.
UCAT Consortium: UCAT 2025In 2024, 2800 out of 3600 sat at about the 81st percentile (deciles: 80th 2780, 90th 2920).
UCAT Consortium: UCAT 2024 test statisticsIn 2025 the same percentile was about 2120 out of 2700 (deciles: 80th 2100, 90th 2220). Three quarters of 2800 is 2100, which sat lower.
