AP Physics C

The AP Physics C equation sheets

Each exam has its own sheet, on both sections: the constants, a trig table and the core equations.

g9.8 m/s², or 9.8 N/kg
k9.0 × 10⁹ N·m²/C²
ε₀ and μ₀8.85 × 10⁻¹² C²/(N·m²); 4π × 10⁻⁷ T·m/A
e1.60 × 10⁻¹⁹ C

On the sheets

  • Mechanics: kinematics, Newton's laws, work as an integral, power, impulse, rotation, oscillations, gravitation.
  • E&M: Coulomb's law, Gauss's law, potential, capacitance, resistivity, Biot-Savart, Ampère, Faraday, inductance.
  • Geometry, vectors and calculus: areas, volumes, vector products, common derivatives and integrals.

Not on them

  • Fields of rods, rings and disks; derive them by integration.
  • Charge or current against time in RC and LR circuits; the sheet gives only τ.

Try 2 questions

Question 1
A block on a spring oscillates with period T. The block is replaced by one with four times the mass, and the new block is set oscillating with twice the amplitude. What is the new period?
Question 2
A circular loop of radius R carries a steady current, and the magnetic field at its center is B₀. The field on the loop's axis is μ₀IR²/(2(R² + z²)3/2) at a distance z from the center. What is the field on the axis at z = √3R?

FAQ

Do you get an equation sheet on the AP Physics C exams?

Yes, for both sections of each exam, including a printed booklet you may write on.
