The three units on the exam

The May 2027 exam on Tuesday, May 11: 42 multiple-choice questions in 1 hour 45 minutes (29 without a calculator, then 13 with a graphing calculator) and 4 free-response questions in 70 minutes. Unit 4 is not on the exam.

Unit 1: Polynomial and Rational Functions

Rates of change, polynomial zeros and end behavior, rational asymptotes and holes, transformations and models.

30–40% of the multiple choice

Unit 2: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

Sequences, exponential and logarithmic functions, composition and inverses, residuals and semi-log plots.

25–40% of the multiple choice

Unit 3: Trigonometric and Polar Functions

The unit circle, sinusoids and their models, tangent and inverse trig, identities and polar graphs.

Try four questions

Question 1
The graphs of the functions ff and gg are shown. The graph of gg is a translation of the graph of ff. Which of the following is an expression for g(x)g(x)?
Question 2
The graph of the function ff is shown for  . On which of the following intervals is ff invertible?
Question 3
The sinusoidal function hh has a maximum value of 33 at θ=0\theta = 0, and its next minimum after θ=0\theta = 0 is −1-1 at θ=π2\theta = \dfrac{\pi}{2}. Which of the following could be an expression for h(θ)h(\theta)?
Question 4
The point PP shown has rectangular coordinates (−2,23)(-2, 2\sqrt{3}). Which of the following gives polar coordinates (r,θ)(r, \theta) of PP?
