How the plan is made

  • Each unit starts from the middle of its published weight range.
  • A unit you have not started gets about one and a half times its share; a solid unit gets under half.
  • Units are ordered by need, and the final one or two weeks are timed practice exams with review of every miss.

Making the hours count

  • Start each unit with a few questions to find what you do not know, then the lesson, then more questions.
  • Practice research methods every week: they appear in every unit.
  • Write one free-response answer a week and compare it with the scoring points.

Try 2 questions

Question 1
A team follows 400 children from age 3 to age 18, testing their memory every three years. By age 18, only 230 of the children are still taking part. Which problem with this design does the drop in numbers illustrate?
Question 2
In a study of a new therapy for depression, clients in the therapy group met with a warm, enthusiastic therapist twice a week, while clients in the control group simply filled out mood surveys at home. The therapy group improved more. Which alternative explanation is most important to rule out?

Which AP Psychology unit is weighted most?

None: each of the five units is 15–25% of the multiple-choice section.

How long should I study for AP Psychology?

It depends on how much of the course you know. The planner turns your weekly hours into hours per unit; most students do best with steady weekly practice rather than a final cram.

When should I start studying for the 2027 AP Psychology exam?

Now is best: steady weekly study through the school year leaves the final weeks for full practice exams before May 14, 2027.
