Living inside is not an offer

Ilford County High and Woodford County High share one Common Catchment Area. Living inside it puts your child in the group that is ranked by total score; it does not give a place. Children scoring below 104 are not ranked at all, and 45 places at each school go to pupil premium children, after looked-after children.

Questions parents ask

What is the Redbridge 11+ Common Catchment Area?

It is one area shared by Ilford County High School and Woodford County High School, drawn on the council's map (Education, then 11+ Common Catchment Area). Your child needs to live inside the blue line. The council says only children who live in it have been admitted to the grammar schools in the last 10 years.

What score do you need for Ilford County High or Woodford County High?

104 is the minimum: nobody below it is ranked. Offers then go in score order. On offer day in March 2026, the last on-time child offered from inside the catchment scored 106.02 at Ilford County High and 110.62 at Woodford County High. For 2026 entry, 2,062 children sat the test and 820 reached 104, for 360 places.

Does pupil premium help in the Redbridge 11+?

Yes. 45 places at each school (a quarter) go to children entitled to pupil premium, in score order, after looked-after children. Your child must have been entitled in Year 5, including Ever 6, and the council also checks eligibility, including Ever 6, on the date you apply. You apply under this criterion. Your child still needs 104 or more.

What proof of address does Redbridge ask for?

At least two documents. The council tax bill is mandatory, plus one of: rent book; tenancy agreement, with its deposit protection certificate; utility bill from the last three months (electricity, gas, water, landline or broadband); TV licence; UK driving licence. The address must be where your child normally lives on 31 October 2026 and is expected to live in September 2027 and beyond.

When are Redbridge 11+ results and the application deadline?

The test is on Friday 18 September 2026. Results are emailed in mid October, and the council gives advice on your child's overall position before the 31 October 2026 closing date. Offers come on or about 1 March 2027.

What happens if two children have the same score?

The place goes to the child with the shorter safe walking distance from home to the school's main entrance, measured by the council along public roads and recognised footpaths. If that is equal too, the council allocates at random.
