The four parts

  • Part I: 24 multiple-choice questions, 2 credits each, 48 credits.
  • Part II: 7 constructed-response questions, 2 credits each, 14 credits.
  • Part III: 3 constructed-response questions, 4 credits each, 12 credits.

What it tests

The exam measures the Next Generation standards for Geometry. By credits: Similarity, Right Triangles and Trigonometry 29% to 37%; Congruence 27% to 34%; Expressing Geometric Properties with Equations 12% to 18%; Modeling with Geometry 8% to 15%; Circles 2% to 8%; Geometric Measurement and Dimensions 2% to 8%.

How this course is organized

We split the standards into eight topics, each with a lesson, multiple-choice practice and constructed-response questions you answer step by step.

Try 2 questions

Question 1Part I style
Point A(−3,−5)A(-3, -5) is reflected over the xx-axis. What are the coordinates of its image, A′A'?
Question 2Part I style
A right triangle has a hypotenuse of length 17 and one leg of length 8. What is the length of the other leg?

Questions people ask

How long is the Geometry Regents?

Students are allowed three hours to complete the booklet.

What tools can I use?

Every student has a graphing calculator for the whole exam, and a compass and straightedge must be available. A reference sheet is included at the end of the booklet.

Should I use 3.14 for pi?

No. Use the pi key on the calculator unless a question says otherwise.
