What is new in SY0-801
- A new objective on threats from AI: prompt injection, data poisoning, jailbreaking, hallucinations, evasion and data loss.
- AI in security operations: agentic tools, chatbots and AI-augmented baselines alongside automation.
- Domain 2 is renamed Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Attacks, and Domain 5 carries less weight.
How to choose
- Testing before mid-2027 and already studying SY0-701 material: finish it and book SY0-701.
- Starting now and testing after November 2026: SY0-801 gives you the newer objectives.
- Most skills overlap: controls, cryptography, attacks, incident response and risk appear in both.
