How to register for TARA

Four checks before you book

1. 01

   Confirm that your course requires TARA

   Use the current UAT-UK course list and your university course page. Do not book from a general subject name alone.

2. 02

   Choose the sitting your application permits

   Most Oxford applicants must use October. Cambridge applicants may use January only if they are mature applicants applying to a mature college with a January admissions deadline. Oxford Foundation Year applicants may use January only if the programme has a January admissions deadline. UCL applicants may use either sitting; UAT-UK says neither sitting offers an advantage.

3. 03

   Apply for support before selecting a test

   Before you select or book a test, apply for any bursary or access arrangements you need and wait for the decision. UAT-UK cannot add either to a completed booking.

4. 04

   Select TARA, then book with Pearson

   Create or use your UAT-UK account, select TARA and choose an available Pearson test-centre appointment. The fee is £78 for a test centre in the UK or Republic of Ireland, or £133 for a test centre elsewhere. It depends on test-centre location, not your home or nationality.
