Timed paper

VCE Accounting timed paper 1

100 marks: 15 minutes of reading time, then 2 hours of writing on one clock, as in the examination. Part A is 4 case questions (40 marks); Part B is 3 extended-response questions (60 marks). When the clock reaches zero the paper is handed in as it stands.

  • During reading time you can read every question but not answer. Writing starts when reading time ends, or sooner if you choose.
  • Part A first: each part of a case question earns its marks when that part is wholly right, and a General Journal entry needs every line. At the paper’s pace Part A is worth about 48 minutes.
  • Part B follows on the same clock: figures are checked and written parts are read by Mia, with no mark, so this paper gives your marks on Part A, not a grade.
  • The structure of our timed papers is our own practice structure, not a published examination format.
