The two exams

Two end-of-year examinations, each with 15 minutes of reading time. A formula sheet is provided with both examinations.

Examination 1 and Examination 2

  • Examination 1 40 marks in 1 hour of writing time; 20 per cent of the study score.

Short-answer and extended-answer questions, all compulsory, covering every area of study (Outcome 1). No technology (calculators or software) and no notes.

  • Examination 2 80 marks in 2 hours of writing time; 40 per cent of the study score.

Section A: 20 multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark each. Section B: 60 marks of short-answer and extended-answer questions, including multi-stage questions of increasing complexity. An approved technology with numerical, graphical, symbolic and statistical functionality, and one bound reference.

How the course practises them
