Which description best matches agility as a benefit of the AWS Cloud?
The Cloud Practitioner passing score
You need 700 on a scale of 100 to 1,000. It is a scaled score across the 50 scored questions, not a percentage, and you do not have to pass each domain separately.
| Exam | CLF-C02 |
|---|---|
| Questions | 65: 50 scored and 15 unscored, multiple choice or multiple response |
| Time | 90 minutes |
| Passing score | 700 on a scale of 100 to 1,000 |
Why 700 is not 70%
Scaled scoring puts every form of the exam on the same 100 to 1,000 range, so forms of slightly different difficulty are judged fairly. AWS does not publish how many right answers a 700 needs, so any number of questions you see quoted is a guess.
Compensatory scoring
AWS uses a compensatory model: you need to pass the exam as a whole, not each section. A strong Technology score can make up for a weaker Billing score. Your score report may show how you did in each section.
How to judge your readiness
- Take full timed practice exams: 65 questions in 90 minutes, across the four domains by their weights.
- Fix the heaviest weak domain first. Technology (34%) and Security (30%) carry the most.
- Answer every question. Unanswered questions are scored as incorrect and there is no penalty for guessing.

Questions people ask
What percentage do you need to pass Cloud Practitioner?
AWS sets the pass at a scaled 700 on a scale of 100 to 1,000 and does not publish a percentage or a raw-score conversion.
Do the 15 unscored questions count?
No. The exam has 50 scored questions and 15 unscored ones that AWS is testing for future use. You cannot tell which are which, so treat every question as scored.
Do I need to pass every domain?
No. The scoring is compensatory: only the overall score decides the pass.
