27 questions in 40 minutes gives you about 89 seconds per question. That is a pacing constraint, not a promise that every question takes the same time.
No calculator
You must estimate, simplify and calculate by hand. Practise those decisions directly rather than relying on calculator speed.
Separate modules
Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are scored separately. A strong result in one module does not erase a gap in another.
Official question style
The ESAT uses multiple-choice questions that ask you to apply familiar ideas. Knowing a topic is the starting point; practising a valid method under the time limit is the preparation skill.
