“Any two” means any two from the options printed in that official row. It does not mean any two ESAT subjects across the whole test.
The common mistake
Do not choose papers from the university name alone. The requirement can change by course, foundation year and UCAS code. Save the exact row for your application before you plan revision.

- Do I take all five ESAT modules?
- No. Your course list decides the required modules. Many ESAT courses use Mathematics 1 plus two choices; engineering courses commonly require Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Physics.
- Can I choose any two modules?
- Only where the official row says any two. The permitted choices differ by course, so check the exact course code rather than copying another applicant's combination.
- What if my course is not listed here?
- Use the official UAT-UK course list. This page transcribes the ESAT rows for Cambridge, Imperial, Oxford and UCL; it does not replace your university's admissions instructions.
