A layout that works

  • Address it to the person the question names, with a title.
  • Introduction or executive summary: the purpose of the report and your main recommendation in two or three sentences.
  • Analysis or findings, under headings: the business's situation from the stimulus, the influences on it and what its figures show.

What separates the top answers

They use the stimulus's names and figures in every section, link the topics (an operations change has a finance cost and a human resources effect) and justify each recommendation against the alternatives.

Questions people ask

Do I need headings?

Yes. The question asks for a business report, so set it out as one: headings, then recommendations.

Can I use dot points?

Use full sentences for analysis and evaluation. A short list can work inside a section, but the reasoning must be written out.
