When do LNAT results come out?
Mid February, if you sit on or before 26 January. Mid August, if you sit on any date after 26 January.
LNAT adds “No specific dates can be given.” Your universities do not wait for either date: scores for tests taken by 20 October are released to them from 21 October, and after that they download your score and essay within 24 hours of you finishing.

Yes. Pearson VUE makes “your LNAT score and essay available for download by your chosen university or universities”. What each does with it differs: LNAT says some universities “may use it, for example, as the basis for interview questions”, others “may compare it with the personal statement and school/college report on UCAS forms”.
Or as a tiebreak, “as a means of distinguishing between borderline candidates”. Your essay is on their desk before your score is on yours, and it is the version you typed in the room.
How much it counts for
Its results page gives no weighting. LNAT states “There is no fixed weight to the LNAT and different universities will utilise the LNAT in different ways”, and that the test is used “in conjunction with formal qualifications”, the UCAS form, the personal statement and sometimes an interview. Do you see your LNAT score before the university does?
No. LNAT puts it in one sentence: “They will see your score before you do.” Sit in September and they download it from 21 October, while you wait until mid February.
Results reach candidates by email “twice a year, with test dates determining the results date”, so 26 January is the only date that decides your month. One sitting settles it: LNAT says a second, unauthorised sitting means “their later test sitting will be invalid”, which the resit rules set out in full.

The essay is read before the result is sent
