The CCNA pass rate

Cisco does not publish a pass rate for the CCNA exam, or how many people take it. The useful number is your own score in each of the six areas.

Measure your own odds instead

  • Take the free 15-question diagnostic. It is weighted like the exam topics and shows your score in each area.
  • Work on the weakest area with its lessons and practice, then sit a full timed practice exam.
  • Keep the clock in mind: at 100 questions in 120 minutes, each question gets about 72 seconds.

If you do not pass

Cisco's policies say you must wait five calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before you retest. Each attempt costs the full US$300 fee unless you bought Exam Safeguard Plus (US$450), which gives a second attempt within 90 days.
