How ISC2 reports a CC result

  • 700 of 1,000 to pass, and no score. ISC2 shows every candidate pass or fail only, never the points behind it.
  • A fail lists your domains. You get a proficiency level for each domain at the test center, which shows where to study before a retake.
  • Unofficial until ISC2 emails you. The proctor hands you a result at checkout; the official one follows by email.

Format and domains

100 to 125 items in 2 hours. The exam is adaptive: it chooses each item from your earlier answers and stops once it is sure of your result.

Worked example

You fail your second attempt on 3 November 2026. ISC2 wants 60 test-free days after a second attempt, so 4 November to 2 January must pass without a test, and your third attempt can be from 3 January 2027. That leaves 2 attempts in the 12 months from your first.

Retakes

  • 4 attempts in 12 months. Wait 30 test-free days after your first attempt, 60 after the second, and 90 after the third.
