Questions people ask

What is a passing score on the ACCUPLACER?

There is none. College Board scores each test from 200 to 300 and leaves placement to colleges. Each college sets the score for each course; among the four listed here, college level starts between 240 and 276.

What is a good ACCUPLACER score?

One at or above your college's score for the course you want. At Western Kentucky University that is 250 in Reading, Writing and QAS; at Palm Beach State College, College Algebra needs a QAS score of 276.

What do the ACCUPLACER score bands mean?

Do colleges look at anything besides my ACCUPLACER score?

Some do. Minnesota State and Western Kentucky University also place students by high school GPA, and Minnesota State accepts lower ACCUPLACER scores with a GPA of 2.5 for reading or 2.7 for math.
