The IFoA does not publish pass rates on its public website. Past papers and examiners' reports have been on its members' learning site since 15 October 2025.
What is the IFoA pass mark?
There is no fixed pass mark. The Chief Examiner agrees it during marking, and it can change each sitting, for example with the difficulty of the paper.
How are CM and CS papers combined?
Paper A counts for 70% and Paper B for 30%. A two-paper exam has one pass mark for the combined mark.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 count for 50% each.
Is my IFoA script marked twice?
Yes. Every script is marked by two markers who do not know each other's marks. A senior examiner remarks scripts whose two marks fall either side of the pass mark, or both fail with an average within 2 marks of it.
