Questions people ask
What is the FE Other Disciplines exam?
One of the seven NCEES FE exams. It is the general exam for engineering graduates whose degree has no FE exam of its own, and it covers the fundamentals shared across engineering.
What is the FE Other Disciplines pass rate?
61% for first-time takers from EAC/ABET-accredited programs within 12 months of graduation (NCEES, updated July 2026). By degree it runs from 41% for mining and mineral engineering to 83% for naval architecture and marine engineering.
Should a mechanical engineer take FE Other Disciplines?
FE Mechanical matches a mechanical degree more closely. Mechanical graduates who took FE Other Disciplines passed at 60%, against 73% for examinees on FE Mechanical (NCEES, updated July 2026).
