Why the number changes

Questions differ slightly in difficulty, and each test-taker gets a different version of the exam. ASWB adjusts the number of correct answers needed on each version so that no one gets an advantage or a disadvantage from the version they receive.

What your score report shows

  • Whether you passed.
  • The number of questions needed to pass and the number you answered correctly.
  • If you did not pass, the number you got right and the total in each content area.
  • An unofficial report in your ASWB account about 24 hours after the exam.

What to aim for in practice

  • Take a full practice exam at your level, on two two-hour clocks.
  • Find the content area where you get the fewest right and fix it first.
  • Answer every question: a blank can never count toward the number right.
