How AAT works out the grade

  • Each assessment’s raw marks become a percentage, rounded to the nearest whole number: 75.5% becomes 76% and 82.1% becomes 82%.
  • Each percentage is weighted by the assessment’s contribution: 25%, 25%, 20% and 30%.
  • The weighted figures are added: 90% to 100% is a Distinction, 80% to 89% a Merit and 70% to 79% a Pass.
  • Every assessment must be passed at 70% or more, or the qualification is unclassified.
