What TEF Canada score is NCLC 7?

On the "Équivalence ancien score" column that Express Entry uses: 207 in reading, 249 in listening, 310 in writing and 310 in speaking. On the 0 to 699 score: 434 in reading and listening, 428 in writing and 456 in speaking.

Which TEF score do I put in my Express Entry profile?

The "Équivalence ancien score" column. IRCC says not to enter the "Score / 699" column, which its system does not accept.

How many CRS points is NCLC 7 in TEF Canada?

As a second official language, 3 points per skill (12 in all), plus the 50-point French bonus if your English is CLB 5 or more in all four skills: 62 points.

How long are TEF Canada results valid?

For Express Entry, results must be less than two years old when you make your profile and when you apply.

How we work this out

Method

  1. Each score becomes an NCLC level from IRCC's TEF Canada table (the "Équivalence ancien score" column), or from CCI Paris Île-de-France's table for the score out of 699.
  2. French as a second official language earns 1 point per skill at NCLC 5 or 6, 3 at NCLC 7 or 8 and 6 at NCLC 9 or more, up to 24.
  3. NCLC 7 in all four skills adds 50 points when English is CLB 5 or more in all four; 25 otherwise.
