How the result is reported

The NAPLEX reports only Pass or Fail. You do not receive a scaled score. The passing standard was set by a panel of pharmacy experts, and the ability level it defines is the same for every administration, so no form is easier to pass than another.

If you do not pass

  • Wait 45 days from the failed attempt before you can schedule again; some jurisdictions require longer.
  • You may take the NAPLEX up to 3 times in a 12-month period and 5 times in all, unless a board of pharmacy decides otherwise.
  • A new attempt means applying again and paying the exam fee again.

Measuring your own readiness

Without a scaled score, the useful measure is your share right on full timed practice in each area. Fix the area with the lowest share first, weighted by how many questions it carries.
