What does my SQE1 mock score mean?
What mock score do I need to pass SQE1? There is no reliable single figure. Published pass marks were 52% to 57% of questions, but mocks differ in difficulty: public reports show real exams from 11 points below to 19 points above the mock.

What real candidates reported. The only public mock-and-exam comparisons we found come from 3 people across 8 mock providers, all of whom passed. Their real exams ran from 11 points below to 19 points above their mocks. That is why we show scenarios, not a pass chance.
Questions people ask
What mock score do I need to pass SQE1?
There is no reliable single figure. Published pass marks were 52% to 57% of questions, but mocks differ in difficulty: public reports show real exams from 11 points below to 19 points above the mock. Aim for a clear margin even if the exam is harder.
Are SRA sample questions harder than the real SQE1?
In the few public comparisons we found, candidates scored lower on the SRA's sample sets than on the real exam, by about 8 to 11 points on average. That is from two people, so treat it as a hint, not a rule.
How many questions do I need right on a 2027 paper?
It depends on that paper's pass mark, which the SRA does not publish. At 55% of 170 questions you would need 94; at 52%, 89; at 57%, 97.
Does this give my chance of passing?
No. A pass chance would need mock and exam results from people who failed as well as passed, and no such data is public. We show scenarios instead.

How we work this out
What it does
Enter a mock score to see the range it supports, what a 170-question paper needs at a pass mark you choose, and why no single mock percentage is safe.
A single SQE1 mock marked as correct answers out of a number of questions, compared with one FLK of 170 questions (January 2027 on) or 180 (up to July 2026). Both FLKs must be passed separately; we never combine them.
Method
- Your mock percentage is correct answers divided by questions.
- Even at the same level, a different set of questions gives a different score. We show the 95% Wilson range for your number of questions: 117 out of 180 (65%) supports anywhere from about 58% to 72%.
- Mocks are easier or harder than the real paper by different amounts. We show three stated shifts: the real exam 15 points harder, the same, and 15 points easier.
- Each is compared with a pass mark you set, 55% by default. The SRA's published raw pass marks were 52% to 57% of questions (November 2021 to July 2023), and candidates' July 2025 results imply about 51% to 54%. On 170 questions, 55% means 94 correct.
