How we work this out

What it does

Enter the station percentages you have from marked mocks or a transcript.

SQE2's 16 marked stations across the written and oral assessments. You enter the stations you have a percentage for, in any order; blanks are the stations still to come.

Method

  1. Each station is marked on skills and on law, each criterion out of 5. The station percentage is the skills average and the law average, each times 20, averaged equally. For the client interview and attendance note, the two skills marks are averaged first. The SRA's worked example comes to 51%.
  2. Your overall percentage is the average of all 16 station percentages, rounded to the nearest whole number only at the end.
  3. So to reach a pass mark P, the 16 stations must average at least P - 0.5 before rounding. The remaining stations need (16 x (P - 0.5) - your total so far) / stations left.
  4. Example: stations of 40%, 50%, 60% and 65% average 53.75%. For an assumed 62%, the other 12 need 64.1% on average.
