TEAS scores, explained
ATI reports a total score, a score for each of the four sections and sub-scores. Each nursing program sets the score it needs.
| Scale | 0 to 100% |
|---|---|
| Total and section scores | Adjusted for differences between test forms |
| Sub-scores | The percent right in each topic, not adjusted |
| Passing score | None: each school sets its own minimum |
Why your score is not just the percent right
ATI equates the total and section scores: they start from the share of questions answered correctly and are adjusted so that scores on different forms mean the same thing. That is why a practice test, ours included, can show questions right but not an official TEAS score.
What schools look at
- The minimum total score the program requires, which differs from school to school.
- Sometimes minimum section scores, often in Reading or Science.
- How many attempts they accept and over what period. ATI itself has no waiting period between attempts.

Questions people ask
What is a passing score on the TEAS?
There is no single passing score. Each school sets its own minimum and may weigh it with your GPA and other requirements, so check the program's admission page.
Can I compare my sub-scores between attempts?
ATI says sub-scores are not adjusted between forms, so they should not be compared from one attempt to the next.
