Where you live and your fee status are different things
The figures above count applicants by where they live. Whether you pay Home or Overseas fees is decided separately.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What decides it | Your nationality, your immigration status in the UK, and where you lived and what you did in the three years before the course starts. |
| When it is decided | By the university, after you apply. Oxford normally assesses it once you hold an offer. |
| EU, EEA and Swiss nationals | Usually Overseas fees if you live outside the UK. Settled or pre-settled status can give Home fees if you meet the residence rules. |
| Irish citizens | Home fees if you have been living in the UK or Ireland and meet the residence rules. |
| Fees, 2027 entry | Home fee £10,050 a year. Overseas fees run from £30,798 to £70,554 a year by course, and overseas students normally pay a College fee as well. |

How we work this out
What it does
Cambridge's own counts by where applicants live: the UK, the EU, the rest of the world and 25 countries.
Cambridge's Undergraduate Admissions Statistics for the 2025, 2024, 2023 cycles: Table 2.1 (Home applications, from applicants permanently resident in the UK, and all other applications) and Table 3.2 (applications from outside the UK by country: the top 25, then Other EU and Other International).
Method
- Each rate is students accepted divided by applications, both Cambridge's own counts. Cambridge calls this the success rate.
- The EU figure is the EU countries Cambridge lists by name plus its Other EU row. Outside the UK and EU is the rest of Table 3.2.
- Every table is checked to add up: Table 3.2 to the outside-UK subtotal of Table 2.1, and Home plus outside the UK to Table 1.1.
- Oxford's figures beside them are its admitted students divided by applications, for the same group and year.
