What is a good ACT score?

It depends on your colleges. A Composite of 22 is the 72nd US rank. Compare your score with each college's own middle 50% range.

Does the Composite include Science?

Not on the enhanced ACT. The Composite averages English, Math and Reading. Science has its own score and US rank, and so does the STEM score.

Which students are these ranks based on?

Method

  1. Your score is looked up in ACT's published table. A Composite of 22 has a US rank of 72.
  2. The rank is the percentage of ACT-tested graduates of 2024, 2025 and 2026 who scored the same as you or lower, rounded by ACT.
  3. Nothing is interpolated: each score has its own printed rank.
