What is a 30 ACT in SAT?

The official table gives SAT 1370 for ACT 30, with a range of 1360 to 1380.

Should I submit my SAT or my ACT?

If a college accepts both, the concordance tells you which is higher on paper. Enter both scores to compare, then check each college's own testing page for how it treats each test.

Is there a new concordance for the enhanced ACT?

Not yet. ACT says the 2018 tables still apply to the enhanced ACT and is reviewing that with College Board.

How we work this out

What it does

Convert an SAT total to an ACT Composite or back with the official table, or see which of your two scores is stronger.

SAT totals from 590 to 1600 and ACT Composites from 9 to 36, using the official 2018 concordance tables that ACT and College Board published together. ACT says they still apply to the enhanced ACT.

Method

  1. SAT to ACT: your total is found in the SAT range the table assigns to each ACT Composite. SAT 1510 falls in 1490 to 1520, so it concords to ACT 34.
  2. ACT to SAT: the table gives one SAT score and a range for each Composite. ACT 32 concords to SAT 1430, range 1420 to 1440.
  3. Compare both: if your SAT is above the range for your ACT, the table places your SAT higher; below it, your ACT; inside it, they are equivalent.
