How we work this out

What it does

Enter your GMAT total to see the GRE Verbal and Quant scores that match it.

GMAT Exam totals from 205 to 805, converted to GRE Verbal and Quant scores from 130 to 170.

Method

  1. ETS publishes a formula that predicts a GMAT total from GRE scores: -2080.75 + 6.38 x Verbal + 10.62 x Quant, on the old 200 to 800 GMAT scale. We turn your GMAT total into the old scale with GMAC's August 2026 concordance, then find the even GRE split (Verbal and Quant equal, or Quant one point higher) that the formula maps back to your total. The same formula runs our GRE to GMAT tool, so the two agree.
