| Skill | Your CELPIP level | CLB | IELTS General |

| Listening | 9 | 8.0 | |
| Reading | 8 | 6.5 | |
| Writing | 7 | 6.0 | |
| Speaking | 8 | 6.5 |
Why Listening needs a higher IELTS band
CELPIP levels match CLB levels one to one. IELTS bands do not: IRCC sets a different IELTS minimum for each skill, so the same CLB level can need 8.0 in Listening but 7.0 in Reading.
