CELPIP Reading, part by part
Four parts, 38 questions, each part on its own timer.
| Part 1 | Correspondence, 11 questions |
|---|---|
| Part 2 | Apply a Diagram, 8 questions |
| Part 3 | Reading for Information, 9 questions |
| Part 4 | Viewpoints, 10 questions |
The habit for each part
- Correspondence: know why the message was written. The reply's blanks use its facts.
- Apply a Diagram: check every condition in the email against every row of the chart.
- Reading for Information: statements are paraphrases. Choose E when no paragraph says it.
- Viewpoints: 'says' and 'argue' report others; 'I believe' is the writer.
Pacing
About a minute a question. A blank answer scores nothing and a wrong one costs nothing, so answer every question before a part's time runs out.

Questions people ask
What is 'Not given' in CELPIP Reading Part 3?
Option E: choose it when none of the four paragraphs contains the information in the statement.
Is there negative marking in CELPIP?
No mark is taken off for a wrong answer, so never leave a question blank.
