A plan that works every time
- Greeting that suits the reader
- One line saying why you are writing
- One paragraph for each bullet, in order, with a specific detail
- A closing line and sign-off
Tone
A manager, a company or a neighbour you don't know: formal ('I am writing to', 'I would appreciate'). A friend: friendly but still complete sentences. Never text-message language.
Check before time runs out
Leave three minutes to check every bullet is answered, the length is in range, and each sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Questions people ask
What happens if I write more than 200 words?
The task asks for 150 to 200. Going a little over is not a rule break, but long answers usually repeat themselves and leave no time to check.
Should a CELPIP email be formal?
It depends on the reader the task names. Match the tone to that person.
