Questions people ask

What are Civil Service Success Profiles?

The framework the Civil Service uses to recruit. A job can assess up to five elements: behaviours, strengths, ability, experience and technical. The advert says which ones apply.

How many behaviours will I be assessed on?

It depends on the job. The advert lists the behaviours it assesses, and you give an example for each at the advert's grade.

What is the difference between behaviours and strengths?

Behaviours are what you have done, shown with examples. Strengths are what you enjoy and do well, usually asked about at interview.

Which online tests does the Civil Service use?

The Judgement, Numerical, Verbal, Management Judgement and Work Strengths tests, the Styles Assessment for Behaviours, and Customer Service and Casework skills tests. Each advert says which, if any, apply.
