What is different

There are no options to check against, so every answer must be exact. Read the rounding instruction, keep units straight and check that chart shares add to 100%.

Answer types to practise

  • Typing a share, total or difference.
  • Setting chart values from a table.
  • Ranking items by a computed rate, not by the raw totals.

Questions people ask

How many questions are in SHL interactive numerical?

Up to 10, in 18 minutes. The test is adaptive, so the number you see can vary.

Is it harder than multiple choice?

It removes the option to work back from answers, so accuracy matters more. The maths itself is the same.

How do I practise ranking questions?

Compute the rate each item is ranked by (per hour, per person, per pound) before ordering; ranking the raw totals is the usual slip.
